Nike takes advantage of the Greek crisis

The largest manufacturer of sports equipment in the world strengthened in December, its presence in downtown Athens, renting a store with 875 square meters.

This way Nike will benefit the commercial dynamism of Ermou Street, a shop that also overlooks the historic square of the Constitution, where it took many of the demonstrations that took place outside parliament.

"The international retailers are taking advantage of lower rents and lower occupancy rates in Greece to establish commercial networks that could not have created before," said the manager of the estate consultant CBRE, Yannis Perrotis.

During the first year of the lease Nike will pay a monthly rent of 57,000 euros, where the previous renter, the bank Geniki of Société Générale, paid 100 000 euros per month.
